The Spurgeon Method®
Breast Massage

The Spurgeon Method®, developed by breast cancer survivor Sally Spurgeon and approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB), is a gentle yet powerful therapy designed to support women’s breast health.
This technique uses light, flowing strokes that mimic the pumping action of lymphatic vessels. By doing so, it helps reduce swelling, encourage drainage, and release toxins that may build up due to surgery, restrictive clothing, poor posture, or compromised health.
Benefits of The Spurgeon Method®
-
Softens scar tissue and releases tension
-
Encourages lymph flow and reduces swelling
-
Restores range of motion after breast surgery (mastectomy, augmentation, or reduction)
-
Relieves discomfort in the chest and shoulders, especially for those who sit at a desk, drive, or work on a computer
-
Promotes healthy breast tissue by supporting natural detoxification
Because the breasts receive little stimulation from exercise, lymphatic flow here is often restricted. This massage restores movement, clears lymphatic channels, and helps maintain vibrant breast health.
Whether you are on a healing journey after surgery or simply want to care for your breast health, The Spurgeon Method® offers a safe, restorative, and empowering experience.
